Responsible for supporting the critical applications of the bank's payments processing platform. Works effectively with business stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to ensure product stability. Ensures that payment support strategies are aligned with management objectives and goals.
Will operate as an individual contributor within the payments support team, ensuring high-quality delivery and cross-functional expertise.
  • Leverage strategic, new, and emerging technologies in the payments domain to uplift and modernize Local Currency Payments, Foreign Currency Payments, Core Banking Payment Gateway (OBPM), middleware, and automation platforms.
  • Primary responsibilities include requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, development, SIT-UAT, and critical production support.
  • Conduct change implementation.
  • Accountable for 24x7 support of critical applications to avoid impact to customers or business.
  • Ensure 100% system uptime.
  • Deliver critical business solutions in alignment with the bank’s guidelines and values.
Key Result Areas:
  • Responsible for payment application support and project delivery.
  • Provide expert recommendations to support and enhance systems.
  • Conduct appropriate stakeholder management across business and technology.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to meet bank objectives.
  • Contribute to world-class platform solutions as part of the payments team.
  • Engage with teams responsible for payment applications including OBPM, Flexcube, ACH, ECC, SWIFT, Egypt Local Payments, etc.
  • Lead implementation of new projects in both LCY and FCY payment platforms.
  • Propose, design, build, and document solutions for critical payment environments.
  • Carry out change management activities including process definition and implementation.
  • Provide solution guidance and process enhancement services.
  • Manage vendors and execute projects related to LCY/FCY payment platforms and associated systems like middleware and API gateways.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in areas such as SWIFT, EG ACH, Local Payments (UAE, US CHIPS, FED, India), API Gateways, SWIFT GPI, Screening Services, SQL, ISO20022, TARGET2.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Review technical documentation.
  • Evaluate technical design feasibility based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Proactively assess infrastructure issues and recommend solutions.
  • Evaluate change management documents and participate in CAB.
  • Create and validate High-Level Designs (HLD) against functional architecture.
  • Document and manage reusable code and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex high-level design issues.
  • Lead support during testing, implementation, and training phases.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on production issues and coordinate fix deployment.
  • Ensure fixes are tested, approved, and moved to production.
  • Collaborate with vendors on development and delivery of application updates.
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships:
  • Interact with project stakeholders from both business and technical teams.
  • Provide production and UAT support for regional payment applications.
  • Coordinate with business and third-party stakeholders to manage expectations.
  • Keep management informed about regulatory risks and their status.
  • Comply with business continuity and disaster recovery plans as per tech framework.
Problem Solving:
  • Adhere to change management and release management processes.
  • Lead incident and problem management with emphasis on root cause prevention.
  • Analyze and interpret user issues and defects, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Present and discuss problems toward permanent resolutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose improvements to systems and processes.
Decision-Making Authority & Responsibility
  • Escalate concerns that affect deliverables or platform support.
  • Use sound judgment to improve results within given timeframes.
  • Design functional solutions based on business requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working in multi-zone, multi-region teams.
  • Strong communication skills for engagement with business users and technical teams.
  • Hands-on expertise in the payment's domain.
  • In-depth understanding of banking and payment processes.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills.
  • 10–12 years of experience in product design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with OBPM, Oracle Flexcube, UAEFTS, Egypt IPN, ACH, SWIFT, API, and middleware platforms.
  • Knowledge of screening systems like Microsoft and middleware systems like Banks.
  • Strong expertise in .NET, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Experience managing delivery, change, and production support.
  • Solid understanding of the banking domain.
  • Ability to lead teams and vendors to meet SLA targets.
  • Strong skills in program code and documentation review.
  • Proficient in interpreting solution documentation and identifying risks.
  • Able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Competent in full software development lifecycle from design to support.
  • Ability to deliver intuitive, functional applications and interfaces.
