- - Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with international standards and local regulations
- - Conduct regular risk assessments and develop risk management plans
- - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
- - Provide training and support to staff and partners on HSE policies and procedures
- - Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards
- - Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents and make recommendations for prevention
- - Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations
- - Keep up-to-date with any changes in HSE regulations and standards and ensure implementation within the organization
- - Prepare and submit reports to the British organization funding the project on HSE performance and progress
- - Manage and maintain all HSE-related documentation and records
- - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- - Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in an international development context
- - Knowledge of international HSE standards and regulations
- - Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk management plans
- - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse team
- - Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
- - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- - Willingness to travel to project sites within Uganda as required
- - Fluency in English, both written and spoken
