Job Purpose:3D Designer at DC, you will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D designs and visualizations for temporary structures, scenic backgrounds, and lightweight installations. Will collaborate closely with creative, production, and technical teams to translate ideas into feasible, buildableconcepts that can be easily assembled and dismantled.Key Accountability Activities:Design:Conceptualization ‒ Develop scalable 3D models for modular and demountable structures using SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max. Apply ergonomic, safety, and event flow considerations into design layouts. ‒ Create parametric components or templates for repeated use across multiple design modules.Structural Logic:Material Knowledge ‒ Design with knowledge of lightweight structural systems (e.g., truss systems, tension fabric, aluminum profiles, foldable paneling). ‒ Specify practical load-bearing configurations for temporary installations. ‒ Integrate anchoring, support, and balancing mechanisms into design logic for on-ground feasibility.Technical Design:Documentation ‒ Prepare detailed technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, exploded views, and assemblyinstructions. ‒ Specify materials, construction methods, and structural supports suitable for temporary and lightweightapplications. ‒ Coordinate with technical teams to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout production.3D Modeling:Rendering ‒ Create accurate, to-scale 3D models with full textures, lighting, and real-world materials. ‒ Use rendering engines (V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion) to produce photo-realistic visuals that simulate physicalenvironments, material reflections, and ambient lighting. ‒ Optimize models for quick rendering and performance during presentation.Collaboration:Communication ‒ Collaborate with internal departments including production, project management, and procurement. ‒ Participate in project meetings to align deliverables, timelines, and client feedback. ‒ Support site inspections and on-ground setup to ensure design accuracy and quality execution.Material & Structural:Knowledge ‒ Apply knowledge of light and durable materials suited for temporary structures (aluminum, PVC, fabrics, wood, etc.) ‒ Work closely with fabricators to ensure designs are practical, safe, and buildable.Time & Project:Management ‒ Deliver multiple design tasks on time and on budget ‒ Adjust designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders and clients ‒ Prioritize tasks based on project timelines and critical pathsRequirementsQualifications/Requirements:Education & Certification:− Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design or a related field.− A diploma in 3D Design, Exhibition Design, or Event Production may also be considered based on experience.− Technical training in 3D modelling software (e.g., 3ds Max, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, Rhino) is highly preferred.Experience:− Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in 3D design for lightweight or temporary construction projects, including structuressuch as pavilions, stages, or modular setupsOther:− Strong portfolio showcasing event or exhibition design, lightweight/modular structures− Advanced skills in 3ds Max, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)− Strong understanding of structural integrity, spatial layouts, and materials used for temporary applications− Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
