As an AC Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
Install new air conditioning systems in residential and commercial buildings
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on AC units to ensure optimal performance
Diagnose and troubleshoot AC system issues using analytical skills and technical knowledge
Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, motors, and electrical parts
Conduct energy efficiency assessments and recommend improvements to customers
Handle and dispose of refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job
Educate customers on proper AC system operation and maintenance
Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner
Stay updated on the latest AC technologies and industry best practices
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
HVAC certification preferred
EPA certification for handling refrigerants
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in AC installation and repair
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including split and central air conditioning units
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in using hand and power tools specific to AC repair and installation
Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
