Engagements are typically focused on digitization of existing operations & processes and/or activation of digital customer engagement channels. With a team of 100+ tech and market consultants, robusta maintains an impactful footprint across EMEA and engages with its clients through its two key operations hubs in Egypt and Germany.What you’ll be doingAs a Backend Engineer, you will be working on different types of products from websites to enterprise platforms. As part of a cross-functional team focused on delivery, you will be responsible for building the engine that powers the entire product. Here are some examples of how your day will go:Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and maintenance of backend services
Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements
Debug and troubleshoot simple technical issues
Write technical documentation for code and system processes

Requirements

Assist in developing and maintaining backend services using PHP (Laravel) and MySQL.
Build and enhance RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications.
Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Participate in code reviews, write clean and maintainable code, and learn best practices.
Help integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, CRM systems, and ERPs.
Write basic unit tests and contribute to maintaining system stability and performance.
Support the team in bug fixing, QA testing, and production troubleshooting.
Stay up to date with the latest tools and AI-powered development technologies to streamline workflows and improve code quality.
1–2 years of experience in PHP (Laravel) development.
Basic knowledge of MySQL or any relational database.
Familiarity with MongoDB, Redis, or modern database concepts is a plus.
Understanding of API development and consumption.
Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or React/React Native is a bonus.
Experience using Git for version control.
Eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced product environment.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Good communication and collaboration within a tech team.
