Job DescriptionSeeking ELV Systems Technician who will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems on project sites. This role requires practical hands-on experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team under the supervision of a Site Engineer to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of ELV systems.Personal SkillsEducation: Technical Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 7-12 years of practical experience in the installation, termination, and basic troubleshooting of ELV systems (e.g., CCTV, Access Control, BMS, Fire Alarm, Data Networking, Intercom, Public Address).Technical Skills:Proven ability to pull, terminate, and test various types of cables (Cat5e/6, fiber optic, coax, control cables).Familiarity with common ELV devices and components.Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, connectivity).Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to ELV installations.Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and schematics.Personal Attributes:Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Good problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving technical issues.Reliable, responsible, and a good team player.Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.Basic communication skills (verbal and written).Commitment to safety on the job site.Technical SkillsInstallation & Cabling:Perform the installation of various ELV system components.Execute conduit routing, cable pulling, termination, and labeling for all ELV systems according to design specifications, shop drawings, and industry standards.Ensure proper mounting and secure installation of all ELV devices and equipment.Assist in the setup and configuration of ELV system hardware.Testing & Troubleshooting:Conduct pre-commissioning tests, continuity checks, and basic functionality tests of installed ELV cabling and devices.Assist in the testing and commissioning of complete ELV systems under the guidance of the Site Engineer.Identify and troubleshoot basic faults in ELV systems, including cabling issues, device malfunctions, and connectivity problems.Use testing equipment such as multimeters, cable testers, network testers, and optical power meters.Maintenance & Support:Perform routine preventive maintenance on ELV systems, including cleaning, inspection, and minor repairs.Respond to and resolve service calls and maintenance requests for ELV system issues.Replace faulty components as directed.Safety & Compliance:Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow safe working practices.Ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes, and standards.Team Collaboration:Work collaboratively with other ELV technicians, site engineers, and other trades on site.Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
