Purpose of the jobResponsible for the support, implementation, and operations of the Core Data Network equipment serving OEGcommercial and enterprise needs. Provide 24X7 level support for Routing and Security problems in the Core DN.Implement new projects for different teams that are hosted on the DN through reviewing design & makingoperational acceptance for the new devices. Manage the support requirements with the relevant vendors.Duties and responsibilities1. Provide second level support on 24/7 basis for major & complex problems for all Core DN equipmentpresent in all sites remotely and on site.2. Review network designs for new core data network projects supporting all OEG customers and raiseany operational concerns prior to implementation and participate in providing solutions to achieveproject targets.3. Revise and approve implementation of assigned complex technical solutions in coordination withvendor and concerned departments.4. Participate in vendor management and control activities for the various Core data network vendors.5. Follow up on existing incidents, problems and daily actions with staff and vendors till resolution andattend regular meetings with suppliers to review cases status and supplier performance.6. Review proposed Software and fix releases to insure compatibility with deployed network & runningservices prior to implementation through reviewing Bug scrub reports and vulnerabilitiesannouncements sent by different vendors.7. Perform periodic revision on end of support status for all Core data network equipment andcoordinate with concerned teams for replacement before end of support date.8. Engage in complex network issues that span different network elements from different vendors andproblems involving multiple teams impacting OEG services, revenue and image.9. Administer, test and maintain Core Data network elements and link all OEG switches including(routers CRS/ASR, switches ME Switches/SAT/NCS, Load Balancers F5, and network securitydevices ASA. SRX Forti, in addition to any other component added to the network that protect OEGCore services such as LTE,3G, VoIP, LDN carried services, VAS, SDM/HLR, IN, SMS, , etc., whilecommunicating and working with corresponding service providers.10. Ensure proper integration, testing and operation of all OEG core services as Voice , signaling , SMS ,VAS , Data , HLR/SDM , IN , BSS ,Infosec, Skill center, NMS, IT, SMS large accounts & third partyVPNs, Customer service applications connecting to Core/VAS/Paco networks, Packet core(LTE/4G/PCRF/SGSGN/GGSN/.. ), integration with Fixed and access networks implemented over theData network while ensuring Quality of service and availability requirements for critical services suchas Voice Signaling, HLR/SDM and any prevailing service deemed as critical to meet OEG businessgoals.11. Test and accept newly installed DN devices and perform power, device and link redundancy checksbefore being introduced to the operational network.Job specificationEducationBachelor degree in Engineering, Electronics & Communications or Computer Engineering majors.Experience1. Minimum 4 years of experience, 2 of which in DN/telecom field network implementation andtroubleshooting is a plus2. Technical certification is a must, at least CCNP/CCNP-SP/JNCIP-SEC, preferably CCIE R&S orService Provider.3. Solid knowledge of data network concepts and devices; IP networks, MPLS, Traffic Engineering,implementing EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/ISIS, Implementing the basics of IPv6, manipulating routingupdates.4. Aware of the building blocks of IP QoS, congestion management, traffic policing & shaping and QoSbest practices.5. Master MPLS implementation on Cisco IOS platforms, VPNs implementation and VPNs advancedfeatures.6. Knowledge of how to secure network infrastructure, understanding core security concepts, managingsecure access, VPN encryption and firewalls (Juniper SRXs/Fortigate/Cisco ASA)7. Basic knowledge of Load balancers functionality and administration especially F58. Knowledge of network elements administration and management concepts including SNMP, KPIs,and translating MIB files9. Ability to analyze packet capturing files for detailed investigations10. Good Knowledge of the GSM & Packet Core network technologies & concepts and building blocks.11.
