Job Title: Electrical Technical EngineerDepartment: MEP / EngineeringLocation: \[Company Name\], \[City, Country\]Reports To: MEP Project Manager / Technical ManagerJob Summary:The Electrical Technical Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of electrical draftsmen, reviewing and verifying electrical shop drawings, and managing technical submittals. The role ensures that all electrical design and documentation meet project specifications, local authority regulations, and quality standards. The engineer also liaises with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of the electrical scope throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Technical Oversight & Coordination

Supervise and manage the work schedule of electrical draftsmen.
Review and approve electrical shop drawings and design calculations.
Ensure drawings are prepared in accordance with design specifications and coordinated with other disciplines.
Verify compliance with local authorities such as KM, QCDD, Ooredoo, and Health & Safety standards.
Ensure adherence to QCS2014 and project-specific technical requirements.

Project Management & Liaison

Liaise with MEP coordinators, consultants, and main contractor technical teams.
Ensure timely submission of shop drawings and technical documents with high quality.
Guide technical teams through the engineering phase and assign specific targets.
Plan and allocate responsibilities to team members to meet project milestones.

Documentation & Compliance

Review and sign off on electrical material technical submittals before consultant issuance.
Approve method statements in compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.
Coordinate with other technical departments for interdisciplinary reviews and approvals.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout the project.

Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain client, consultant, and contractor satisfaction through proactive communication and quality deliverables.
Participate in technical meetings and provide expert input on electrical design and execution.

Job Knowledge & Skills:

Strong knowledge of construction practices and electrical engineering principles.
Familiarity with NFPA, local regulations, and international electrical codes and standards.
Proficiency in electrical load diagrams, schedules, wiring, ELV systems, and voltage drop calculations.
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is required.
UPDA (MMUP) certified engineer or equivalent professional certification with attestation.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of total working experience.
At least 5 years in a relevant technical role.
2 years of experience in the GCC region is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional registration with MMUP (UPDA) is required.
